Average website conversion rates per industry
I saw this chart yesterday and wanted to share it with you. I often get asked about conversion rates – what’s good, what isn’t; what’s expected and what isn’t.

The one thing that struck me is the difference in conversion rates. If you read the article, you’ll see suggestions why. I would agree that different industries define conversion rates differently. The retail industry might look at conversions of an actual sale while professional services might look at conversions for an ebook for lead generation.
Like all charts, you must determine what’s useful for your own business. And one thing I would recommend is that you measure conversion. If you haven’t started yet, then start. If you have started, then look at tweaking it and make sure that you use the data. Make changes to your website to get more visitors and increase conversion rates.
