How is your grammar?

Getting grammar right is always hard when copywriting. On one side of copywriting is ensuring that information flows so that it reads well while on the other side, you have to think about grammar police.
I had a wonderful English teacher, Mr Lyons – he was so inspiring and he always encouraged creativity more than grammar. This has served me well in my copywriting career. But at the same time, you need to make sure your grammar is spot on. And it really depends on the document you are writing. Sales documents or informal writing such as blogs, grammar is less important – the message is more important.
However, formal documents such as tenders, presentations etc, you need to get the grammar right. If people see grammar mistakes, they may doubt your credibility…so it’s important to get it right.
I saw this interactive quiz on Wall Street Journal and thought I’d give it a go. I did it and I had a few downfalls. So go on, give it a go and tell me how you got on:
