31 days to write better copy wins small business book award

I worked with a great client on a marketing and copywriting strategy session on Friday and went onto twitter when I was stuck on traffic on my way home. As my client work was a day long session, I took the opportunity to use time and catch up with what I’d missed during the day.
And I saw this:

I was delighted and like any good Irish person initially doubted that I had won!! So I immediately logged onto the website and sure enough…I WON. I saw this:

At this stage, the traffic had started to move on so I had to go but you can just imagine that I sailed home on Friday. I didn’t notice any bad drivers, any annoyed drivers – it was a good drive home! Yay!
And this, my friends, is the gold seal that my books will shortly be displaying:

But you know what, it’s more than a badge. My ’31 days to write better copy’ book won the APEX Award for Publication Excellence last July. So now I’m the proud owner of two awards for the book.  This is phenomenal and I’m thrilled, especially as I wrote the book to help small business owners to get better at marketing and copywriting.
Over the past couple of weeks with the nominations, sales of the book has seen a sharp increase. That’s an accolade for me – because more and more business owners are going to get the benefit of the book. It’s those business owners who are the real winners – they are the people who want to grow their business and one of the best ways is to engage with their leads and customers. They are the ones who are stepping out above the competition and are facing 2012 head on.
To you guys, I say: well done. Learn the tricks of good copywriting, apply them and you will see a difference.
To all the people who voted, I raised a glass of bubbly over the weekend and celebrated. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
